About this role

We are looking for a new team member to help us push the performance of rendering and modelling capabilities in the browser. This position is very playful - your goal is to come up with ideas.

Your main objective will be to research state of the art rendering techniques and help develop our renderer to achieve visually realistic results while keeping the frames per second high even in most complex scenes.

You are passionate about shaders and will find optimal ways to compute screen space reflections, refractions, or bloom. You are aware how ambient occlusion and global illumination plays difference in human perception of a scene.

You get the concept of light probes and you thoroughly understand raytracing and its limitations when speed is at stake. You always find your ways around and love to combine various techniques to achieve great performance.

Responsibilities

  • Come up with ideas to boost the performance of our renderer and kernel
  • Collaborate with our current 3D engineering team
  • Present ideas, which you will plan and help execute
  • Be a team player; support your peers by providing constructive feedback and assistance

Requirements

  • 3+ years of previous programming experience in computer graphics
  • Efficiency in GLSL or HLSL
  • C++, WebAssembly
  • Good knowledge of shaders
  • Understanding the physics of light and materials in CGI (reflections, refractions, ambient occlusion, etc.)
  • We’re a globally distributed team, so fluency in written and spoken English is important (we provide English courses though if necessary)
